“Law firms might well feel threatened by a recent market study into legal information and technology suppliers in the uk (www.arkbusiness.co.uk).  Conducted by A.R>K. and presented in a detailed, provocative and costly report (£1,495) it examines about 120 legal publishers, systems suppliers and training providers that make up a UK market valued at £653 million.  Many of these businesses are thriving and ambitious.  More than a few recognise that the traditional boundaries between law firms and information suppliers are breaking down.  In a world where legal services can be commoditised and compliance risks can be met by using advanced information systems, clients of law firms may increasingly turn to suppliers for packaged solutions rather than to lawyers for consultative service.  Ominously, the report warns firms that the competitor who kills you does not look like you.”
